Weekly Letter from the Principal 5/7/21

SLE – Respectful attitude toward others in all we do:  Joyfully performing works of charity for those who are suffering in mind and body, is the most authentic way to live the Gospel.  Pope Francis

Dear Parents,

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and our teachers have been showered with love, from their students and our wonderful parents.  On behalf of our staff, I would like to thank Home & School for all of the love this week!  The school underwent a deep sea transformation, we have had amazing meals and snacks, and even a free dress day!  Our teachers work so hard and dedicate so much time and effort to their students and classrooms, and this week’s recognition is very much deserved.  We are so blessed to work in a Catholic school, but even more so, this school with kids and families who are active, engaged, and supportive.  This is such a special place!

I also want to thank the teachers of Sacred Heart for all that they do to serve the students in their classrooms.  Thank you for your time, your energy, your sacrifice, your love, and your commitment, to educating students in the Catholic faith.  You are an amazing group and I am grateful for all that you do!

We are celebrating May Crowning today.  This afternoon our 8th grade students will lead this special celebration as we recognize and crown our Blessed Mother Mary, as the queen of Heaven and Earth.  We will present flowers to Mary, pray a Rosary together, and sing songs to our Blessed Mother.  It is such a joyful day!

Our week of MAP testing has gone well.  Students (grades 2-8) tested on Tuesday and Thursday this week.  They will take their last test, Language Arts, on Monday.  We will have make up days on Tuesday-Thursday for anyone who was absent for a test, or did not complete their test.  Please continue to encourage your students to do their best, and get plenty of rest.  Thank you!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our amazing moms!  I hope that you are showered with love this weekend.  Being mom is an incredible vocation… beautiful, challenging, often not-appreciated nearly enough, but SO important!  Thank you, moms, for everything you do, and all you give for your children!

In Christ,

Brock Carpenter
