Sacred Heart 8th-grade young women dived into the world of STEM with the help of the Micron Foundation's Girls Going Tech program on International Women's Day
This week, Micron virtually hosted 5 young women from SHS's 8th-grade class. They spent the day learning alongside Micron engineers from across the country on everything from artificial intelligence to coding. They were even personally guided through wiring and balancing their very own small robot.
While the ladies were away, Mrs. Workman made sure the remainder of the class was also engaged in STEM. They created and waged sea battles with Google Sheets, much like the well-known game of Battle Ship. It was a lesson in formatting and building spreadsheet skills, but also in project management and organization.
