Weekly Letter from the Principal 12/11/21

February SLE – Discovery of strengths and God’s love:  Take action! Live life to the full! And when others see the witness you give, they may ask: why do you live this way?  Pope Francis

Dear Parents,

I pray that you are all having a good week.  This short week has flown by!  Our students were full of excitement today, as they celebrated Valentine’s Day!  Lots of sugary treats… though I did have a second grader tell me that she made sure to balance the junk food she brought with a healthy treat too!

I want to thank all of our students and families for celebrating Catholic Schools Week with us last week.  We had fun with our activities and prayers, celebrating our Catholic Schools.  Our food drive for St. Vincent de Paul was a huge success!  Thank you all for your generosity, as we helped this important ministry.

Lent begins next week!  Don’t forget that Tuesday is a free dress day, with a free pancake lunch from our Home & School Association.  It is one of our favorite days of the year!  On Wednesday, our students will watch Mass from their classrooms, and then Fr. Rob will bring the Eucharist over for Communion.  We will also distribute ashes on our students’ foreheads.

We will be praying the Stations of the Cross each Friday during Lent.  These will be led by students, and a link to the recording will be shared with families, if you would like to join us.  Watch for these links to be shared each Friday.

Please remember that there is no school tomorrow or Monday.  Have a great weekend!

In Christ,

Brock Carpenter
