January SLE – Excellence in Academics: “From the first moment that a student sets foot in a Catholic school, he or she ought to have the impression of entering a new environment, one illumined by the light of faith, and having its own unique characteristics.” - The Religious Dimension of Education in a Catholic School (1988)
Regarding the quote above, I pray that our students get this impression when they walk through our doors each day. Our mission is to foster an environment of love & faith, where our students are comfortable and confident in their ability to learn, grow, and engage in their classrooms.
I wanted to let everyone know of a change we made for this second semester. We will not be offering music class with Mrs. Bailey this semester. For a variety of reasons, we decided to take this semester off, with the goal of bringing music back in the fall. I know this is disappointing, and Mrs. Bailey is disappointed as well. We are praying that our situation will improve and that we can offer in-person music classes next year.
We are busy planning a fun week for Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 31st-Feb. 6th. We will have dress up days and fun activities planned for the week. This year’s theme is “Faith. Excellence. Service.” We will send details home next week.
We are also in the midst of planning our Lenten programs and activities at the school. Home & School will be doing their annual Pancake Breakfast (lunch) for students on Tuesday February 16th. This is one of our students’ favorite days, and I am so grateful to our Home & School for figuring out a way to make it happen this year!
Registration is off to a great start. Packets were sent home last Friday and we have had more than half of our families turn in their registrations already! Thank you so much!
On this day, we remember the millions of unborn children who have been lost to abortion. Please join our school in praying for the legal protection of the unborn, in our country and world.
God bless you and your families this weekend!
