December SLE – Respectful attitude toward others in all we do:  Advent is a time for us to prepare for the coming of Jesus, Prince of Peace. It's a time to make peace with ourselves and our neighbors. Pope Francis

Dear Parents,

I pray that you and your families are preparing, in your own way, for the coming of Jesus, at Christmas.  It has been a busy but beautiful week at school.  Our students have been sharing gifts, preparing for programs and plays, having their class parties, and enjoying the anticipation of Christ’s birth.  It is a magical season, in so many ways… May God bless your family with Peace and Joy!

Tuesday was a super fun day for our students, as our Campus Ministers hosted our first ever Ministry Madness Showdown.  Two students from each class competed in answering Catholic trivia questions, with the winning group from upper wing and lower wing earning free time for their respective classes.  Our winners for this fall’s Ministry madness were:

Upper Wing – 8th grade (Seiya Thompson & Rachel Maust)

Lower Wing – 3rd grade (Gian Sim & Aran George)

Congratulations to our winners & all of the participants!  Thank you Mrs. McGiff & the Campus Ministry team for this awesome experience!

Our first graders also performed their Nativity Play for families and friends on Tuesday afternoon.  They gave us a beautiful story of the birth of Christ!  Thank you Mrs. Grove and 1st grade students for this special treat!

Our Drama Club students will be presenting two shows tonight, starting at 6:30, in the gym.  Mrs. McGiff and her Drama kids have been working really hard, preparing for this evening!  We will be treated to North Pole’s Got Talent & The Most Amazing Christmas Play Series in the Entire History of the World.  We invite everyone to come join us for this special presentation.  It is always exciting to see what Mrs. McGiff and her students have cooked up for us!  Please join us for the show!

Tomorrow is the last day of school before the Christmas break and it is going to be a busy day!  We will have our school Mass tomorrow morning.  Then at 10:30, our Drama Club students will be performing their shows for the rest of our students.  TOMORROW IS ALSO A NOON RELEASE.

Boys’ basketball, for students in grades five through eight, will begin after Christmas break.  Information for 5/6 has been shared with families that confirmed their students were playing.  Seventh and eighth TVCS basketball will begin on Monday, January 6th.  Seventh grade will practice at St. Joseph’s at 5:00.  Eighth grade will be at St. Ignatius at 5:00.  Registration forms and fees should be completed online. If you have any questions on the upcoming basketball seasons, please contact the school office.

Tomorrow is the end of the 2ndquarter of school.  Grades will be finalized and report cards sent home the week we get back from Christmas Break.

I pray that you all experience a blessed and safe Christmas and New Year.  May Christ be with each of you!

In Christ the Teacher,

Brock Carpenter
