December SLE – Respectful attitude toward others in all we do: There is no such thing as the perfect family. Only by the daily exercise of forgiveness can a family grow. Pope Francis
Happy Advent! I pray that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that this first week of Advent is going well for everyone. I hope you are taking opportunities to visit with your family, and are finding personal time to reflect on Christmas, the coming of our Lord. May God bless this time in each of your homes!
Our students in grades 3-8 had the opportunity to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation this morning. What a beautiful opportunity for our students, as we begin this season of Advent, and preparing for Christ to come. We are so blessed!
We are so excited for our upcoming concerts and plays! Music and Drama students have been working really hard for Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. McGiff, and they are almost ready for show time! Our Christmas Concert is coming up next Tuesday evening, at 6:30. I hope that you will join us for this fun and joyful concert! Drama Club will be presenting their winter plays for us on 12/19 & 12/20. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us! Also, students in our TVCS 7/8 grade band will be performing at the BK concert tomorrow night. Good luck to all of our students as they perform!
Four of our Sacred Heart Students were selected to have their Thanksgiving artwork and essays featured in the Idaho Catholic Register. Two of our kindergarten students, Emma Warren and Peter Benevente, were featured, as well as two 8th graders, Robynn Flowers and Andrew Nguyen, were selected for their essays. We are so proud of our students and their incredible work and spirit! Congratulations!
I also want to take this opportunity to thank Jane Peterson for leading and organizing the Sacred Heart Holiday Bazaar! Jane puts in an incredible amount of time and work to make the Bazaar happen, and we all love it! Thank you, Jane, and all your volunteers, who make the Bazaar such a fun and successful event!
Our 5/6 girls basketball team wrapped up their season with a home game yesterday afternoon. The girls played hard and had a tremendous season. It was fun to watch them play! I want to thank our coaches, Johnny Horn and J.P. Brady, for sharing their time and coaching talents with our students! Go Crusaders!
Seventh and eighth grade boys’ TVCS basketball is starting after the Christmas break. More information will be sent home in a separate email. To 7th and 8th families.
I want to remind everyone that the second quarter ends on Dec. 20th. All grades will be entered and report cards will go home right after the break. Please make sure your students are getting their AR reading done and assignments in.
To all of our dads, the annual Catholic Men’s Conference is coming up in January. For more information, and to register, please visit. This is an incredible opportunity for dads, husbands, grandfathers, anyone to grow in their faith and take a step towards being the men God created us to be. Please check out the website for information on the great speakers at this year’s conference.
I pray that this Advent Season is bringing you closer in your preparation for the coming of our Savior. May His peace and joy be with you!
