October SLE – Appreciation for self, others, and the world: Jesus’ Cross shows the full force of evil, but also the full power of God’s mercy. Pope Francis
Today is a fun and exciting day for our students! Class Halloween parties are taking place this afternoon, and our Kindergarten and Preschool classes will be parading through the school in their costumes. Lots of cute costumes, and, of course, we have all kinds of cowgirls and boys stomping their boots around the school today.
Thank you for supporting our Sacred Heart Red Ribbon Week this week! We have followed our dreams, given drugs the boot, & teamed up against drugs. Drug Free Idaho was here today to encourage our middle school students to find their “Natural High”. This is an important week and message for our students, as we focus on healthy and Holy living!
Thank you to all of our parents who attended Parent Teacher Conferences. Our teachers truly appreciate the opportunity to visit with parents and gain some insight into how things are going at home, and all the insight you shared with them. If you didn’t get the opportunity to be here for conferences, your student’s report card should be coming home in the family envelope today.
Tomorrow is All Saints Day, and a Holy Day of Obligation. I encourage you to join us for Mass tomorrow morning at 8:30. Our 5th graders will be leading Mass, and will share a little bit about the saints immediately after that. We will also be praying the Rosary together, after lunch, tomorrow.
Our fifth and sixth grade girls basketball teams played their first games of the season yesterday afternoon. I had so much fun watching the girls play, and they looked great!
As the weather turns colder, please remember to make sure your students are dressed in layers. Mornings are pretty chilly right now, but it’s been warming up nicely by lunch recess.
I pray that your families have a fun and safe Halloween and good weekend.
