October SLE – Appreciation for self, others, and the world:  Creation is not a property, which we can rule over at will; or, even less, is the property of only a few: Creation is a gift, it is a wonderful gift that God has given us, so that we care for it and we use it for the benefit of all, always with great respect and gratitude.  Pope Francis

 Dear Parents,

Fall is here and with the changing colors comes cooler weather.  Please take time to make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the temperature, especially in the morning.  The wait outside, before they come in for school, can get a bit chilly.  Thank you!

Our Jog-R-Walk last Thursday was such a great event!  We had beautiful weather to run in, the kids were having fun and working hard, and we had lots of help from parents, grandparents, and volunteers.  We have been tallying laps and pledges, and I’m excited to see if we meet our goal to color bomb the principal… and maybe Fr. Rob and teachers as well!  Please be sure to help your children collect their pledge money and turn it in by Monday.  This is the due date for prizes and awards!

I want to thank all of our parents, students, and staff for a great effort at Jog-R-Walk.  Thank you all for your help and for your support!!

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is such an incredible opportunity for us to come before Our Lord in quiet reflection.  He is there for us to talk to, listen to, and share our burdens with.  If you have not experienced adoration of Jesus in the Eucharist, or have not gone in some time, I would like to invite you to do so.  We have adoration here, in the Sacred Heart Parish chapel on Mondays, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, and from Tuesday at 9:00 am to Wednesday at 6:30 pm.  School drop-off and pick-up are the perfect time to go over and spend time with Jesus… taking your students over, after school, for a few minutes can be such a great prayer experience for you and them!

Bishop Kelly is now offering Adoration in their chapel on Tuesdays as well!  The Blessed Sacrament will now be out from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.  They are looking for a few families to help take an hour of adoration on Tuesday’s.  If you would be interested in signing up, please go to the sign up HERE.  Again, this is such a great opportunity for each of us to spend time with Jesus!

Please remember that next Thursday is a late start Spirit Day, and Friday is a noon dismiss, and is the end of the first quarter. More information on our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences will be coming home soon.  We will be sending out a sign up for conference times on Monday.

Also, don’t forget that the Halloween Carnival is coming up next weekend, October 19th!

Have a great weekend!

In Christ,
