September SLE – Spiritual Growth in the Catholic Faith: We are called to be witnesses and messengers of God's mercy, to offer the world light where there is darkness, hope where despair reigns, salvation where sin abounds. Pope Francis

Dear Sacred Heart,

October is the month of the Rosary!  Please remember to share this beautiful prayer and tradition with your family. Finding time to pray the rosary, or at least part of it, with your family will open the door to blessings for all of you.

Our students have been taking their MAP tests the past two weeks, and I am excited to say that this testing session has come to an end.  All of our tests went extremely well this fall!  Great job Sacred Heart students!

Jog-R-Walk is next week!  We are getting ready for a super fun day, as we run laps to raise money for our amazing school.  I hope everyone is excited to show how much they love Sacred Heart and have been out getting pledges.  I always love this day!  Parents and families are invited come support the kids as they run next Thursday.  Students in grades K-4 will run at 12:30 and grades 5-8 will run at 1:45.  Please pray that this is a successful event!  Let’s try to “Color Bomb” the teachers!!!  (and me J)

We have two open positions on our School Advisory Board.  I would like to hold elections in a couple of weeks, and am seeking parents who may be interested in serving on this board.  We welcome those who are passionate about our school and community, are willing to sacrifice a little bit of time to discuss and give direction to the various happenings at our, and play well with others. J  If you would like more information on how the Board operates, when we meet, or anything else, please feel free to contact me, or one of our current Board members.  Please join me in praying for God’s guidance as we fill these positions.  Thank you!

We held Student Council Elections the last couple weeks, and I am so proud of all of our candidates who ran for office and class representative positions!  We had a tremendous group of students running for Student Council!  This year’s Student Council members are:

            President – Elvis Yav

            Vice President – William Hartman

            Secretary – Eliana Stephens

            Treasurer – Andrew Ngyuen

4th grade Representatives – Eva Duncan & Kian Kerns

5th grade Representatives – Delaney Newell & Aiden Schweitzer

6th grade Representative – Gabriela Fisher & Noah Horn

Congratulations to our new Student Council members, and to all those that ran!

TVCS girls’ basketball and wrestling starts on October 7th.  Details & registration links are on the TVCS website.

Please remember that we have a short week next week.  After Jog-R-Walk on Thursday, we will not have school on Friday.  Teachers and I will be attending the Catholic Education Conference at Bishop Kelly High School on Friday and Saturday.  We are excited for a great learning opportunity!

Don’t forget to come shop at the Farmers Market after school today and tomorrow!  Profits will help our 6th grade class go to the McCall Outdoor Science School (MOSS) later this year.

I pray that you all have a blessed weekend with your families!

In Christ,
