September SLE – Spiritual Growth in the Catholic faith: Catholic education is like sowing wheat. We can never fully know what our crop will yield, but we have faith the harvest will be eternally abundant. Delmer Wagner
Hello everyone, we are well into our second week of the school year, and are off to a great start! It has been so exciting to see students return from their summer vacation with so much energy and joy! I have really enjoyed getting to hear about all the summer fun your families had this year.
I have also loved the opportunities I have had to get to know our new students! We are so blessed to welcome great families into our school each year, and this year is no different. I am praying that this time of transition to a new school is going well for each of our students and families. Welcome to Sacred Heart!
Times of transition can be challenging for all of us. Changing schedules, more work, and less play can really take its toll on family dynamics. I encourage you all to pray for each other and for your own students, as we adjust back to a school schedule. Rest is so important during this time, I know my kids have needed (& so have I)!
It was wonderful to see so many families at our Block Party Friday night! It was so much fun, celebrating our school and this tremendous school & parish community. Thank you all for joining us, and for all of the help. I want to especially thank Home & School, the Knights of Columbus, School Foundation, School Advisory Council, and parent volunteers for making this another great night. Thank you all!
Next Thursday, September 5th is Parent Night. This is an opportunity for our parents to visit classrooms, hear from your students’ teachers, and get tips on how to help them be successful throughout the year. We will send out a schedule next week to help you plan your evening.
Please remember our safety guidelines for the parking lot. We need anyone who is doing drop off or pick up to enter the parking lot on Latah and leave the parking lot onto Cassia. Please drive slowly in our parking lot, and watch for kids! Pull into a marked spot to let students into and out of your vehicle. And, please share this information with anyone who is transporting your student(s) to and from school. Thank you!
A quick message for our families who have students taking any kind of medication. Please let our office or the school nurse know if your student is taking medication. It is so important for us to know any side effects, changes in dosage, etc. We are here, not only to teach your students, but to provide for their safety and well-being. If there were an emergency situation, we need to be able to alert EMS of any medications a child may be taking. There are times when our staff notices a change in student behavior, and knowing that something has changed with a medication is helpful, as we try to assist them with whatever is happening. This information in confidential, and will be handled delicately and discreetly, but we do need to know.
I pray that the school year is off to a good start for all of our families. We are grateful to have the opportunity to serve our amazing students and families! Please pray for the school, our families, staff, and the volunteers who work with our students. Thank you!
I hope you all get a chance to enjoy the three day weekend!
God Bless You,
This is from our summer vacation, we got to spend a few hours at the University of Notre Dame. So much fun! Go Irish!!
